Another member of the Gerrard family will be plying his trade at Liverpool soon with Bobby Duncan, the England under-17 international, joining the club after deciding to leave Manchester City.

Duncan, the cousin of Liverpool great Steven Gerrard, is out of contract at the Etihad but City will receive a £200,000 fee according to the Telegraph.

The young striker, who has just turned 17, announced his farewell from City on Instagram yesterday.

He was expected to join Liverpool as far back as April after a contract dispute with City, and Steven Gerrard’s move from the Liverpool academy to Rangers hasn’t impacted his teenage cousin’s decision.

Duncan is the latest talented teen to leave City’s academy after Jadon Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund a year ago in an £8million deal. Highly-rated defender Joel Latibeaudiere is also stalling over a new deal, although the U-17 world champion is under contract until 2020.
