Enes Unal’s agent responds to claims of loan to Valencia with €40m option to buy – City Watch

City Watch

Earlier today, Turkish news site DHR revealed some potentially big news on the future of 20-year-old Manchester City forward Enes Ünal with a claim that he would join La Liga club Valencia on loan next season.

The story further claimed that Valencia would have an option to buy free-scoring Ünal for €40 million (£34.9 million) next summer, which immediately was cause for scepticism after the Spanish club found €20 million (£17.4 million) for Eliaquim Mangala beyond their financial reach.

The Turkish press is not known for its reliability and in recent weeks has linked half of Man City’s squad with a move to top clubs in the nation, including the laughable story of Vincent Kompany joining Galatasaray. Last summer, Aleksandar Kolarov was ‘on the verge’ of joining Besiktas – except, it turned out, he never was.

To try and uncover the truth of the Enes Ünal rumour, Valencia-based newspaper Superdeporte contacted Batur Altiparmak, a representative of Ünal, and he immediately dismissed it as a ‘rumour’, saying he did not know where this news came from.

And in recent minutes, Altiparmak has taken to Twitter to clear things up, saying Ünal has NO agreement with any club yet. News may follow soon on the youngster’s future, but for now nothing is decided.

Enes Ünal will decide upon the direction he will take with regard to his career after first conferring with Manchester City…
