Eliaquim Mangala agrees to join Crystal Palace from Manchester City in £23m deal – report – City Watch

City Watch

Crystal Palace have agreed terms with Manchester City and, crucially, Eliaquim Mangala for the 26-year-old French international to join them on a permanent deal, the Daily Mail reports.

Should the deal go through, Palace will pay an initial £18million which could rise to £23million with add-ons. They have also agreed to pay his £120,000-a-week wages, which is what priced West Brom out of a move.

TMW in Italy report that Inter Milan have given up on Mangala after City categorically refused their request to loan him, and it now seems that he has agreed to continue his career in the Premier League with Frank de Boer’s team.

Mangala’s departure will allow City to press ahead with a move for Jonny Evans, who Pep Guardiola has identified to strengthen the defence. Evans has flown to San Marino with Northern Ireland today, but it is thought this won’t prevent a deal from going through.
