Departing Man City goalkeeper Willy Caballero passes Chelsea medical and signs contract – City Watch

Willy Caballero was one of five veteran players let go when their Manchester City contracts expired this summer, but has already found his next club and it happens to be one of City’s biggest Premier League rivals.

After reports of him being on the verge of joining Chelsea, Willy has now passed a medical and signed a contract with the reigning Premier League champions, the reliable César Luis Merlo reports this afternoon.

Caballero rejected the chance of first-team football at Newcastle and Boca Juniors to join Chelsea, with the chance to live in London said to be a prevailing factor in his decision.

Chelsea have yet to announce the 35-year-old, but an announcement is expected shortly.
