Crystal Palace now favourites to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart – report – City Watch

With the likelihood of a move to a top six club slim, Joe Hart may have to look down the table in order to find his next club, with Manchester City looking to sell the England international this summer.

And a man who stuck by Hart during his ever-so-brief stint as England manager has come calling, with Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace now in pole position to sign 30-year-old Hart, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

Allardyce wants to bring in a new goalkeeper after indifferent performances from Palace number one Wayne Hennessey, and sees Hart as the perfect man for the job.

Any deal for Hart is dependent on Crystal Palace remaining in the top-flight, and the Daily Star suggests the fee would be in the region of £20 million for the Manchester City fan favourite.

Just yesterday, Torino president Urbano Cairo appeared to have a dig at Hart, telling the press that the Serie A club “didn’t expect so many mistakes from an England international”. Despite rumours of an extended stay in Turin, the possibility of that is now dead and Hart is in line for a return to the Premier League.

Everton and West Ham are two others to have expressed interest, while there have even been links with Manchester United and Chelsea, but it could be Selhurst Park that is Joe Hart’s next footballing home.
