Bernardo Silva gives ankle injury update after being forced off for Portugal – City Watch

City Watch

Bernardo Silva was forced to go off at half-time yesterday after taking a knock when he finished off a nice team move for Portugal against New Zealand at the FIFA Confederations Cup.

The £43million capture from Monaco stayed down after scoring, clutching his right foot and appearing to be in a great deal of pain. Although he returned to the pitch for the last few minutes of the half, he was replaced by Pizzi for the second half.

This led to some concerns about City fans and wouldn’t it just be ‘Typical City’ if he injured himself seriously…

Nothing to fear though, as the 22-year-old, who has been outstanding for Portugal at the Confederations Cup, has taken to social media to announce that his ankle is ‘fine’.

Thanks a lot for all your support messages. Everything is fine with my ankle 😃👍
