Benjamin Mendy shuts down outspoken journalist Duncan Castles with savage tweet – City Watch

City Watch

Earlier today, well-known Scottish journalist Duncan Castles reported the potentially heartbreaking news that Benjamin Mendy could be out of action for up to nine months.

Concern with Benjamin Mendy is that Man City’s sole specialist left back has ruptured an ACL. If so possible 9 months rehab process. #MCFC

In fairness, Castles didn’t say Mendy will be out for nine months, just that the concern is that it could be an injury that would sideline him for that length of time.

Even so, social media king Mendy isn’t happy with Castles’ tweet and in vintage style, has hit back on Twitter with this message to Castles:

Your bio says journalist so why you speak like graduated doctor ? no one has test to see if ruptured ACL or not, even I dont know lol ‍♂️ 6jMVtELpB6

Castles is an unpopular journalist among some of the City fan base on Twitter due to a perceived pro-Mourinho stance. However, some of his stories have been very well sourced – he was the first to report a City move for Gabriel Jesus, for example.

Even so, Blues are loving Mendy’s response this afternoon.
