Aymeric Laporte could make Man City bow against West Brom after receiving clearance – City Watch
Aymeric Laporte is eligible to make a quick debut for Manchester City against West Brom at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow night, after completing his £57million move from Athletic Bilbao earlier today.
The 23-year-old’s registration was completed before the Premier League deadline today and his transfer has received international clearance.
It may be a little too early to throw him straight in the mix, but Laporte did complete a full training session on Tuesday afternoon so there is a chance that he will make the matchday squad.
With Vincent Kompany fit, Guardiola currently has six natural centre-backs to choose from in Laporte, Kompany, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi, Eliaquim Mangala and Tosin Adarabioyo.
The latter two could be heading out of the Etihad by tomorrow’s transfer deadline, with Newcastle, West Ham and Valencia showing interest in Mangala, and Tosin available for loan and subject interest from a host of clubs including Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
