Arsenal plot move to sign one of Manchester City and England's top teenage prospects – City Watch
Arsenal are making efforts to lure one of the most promising talents in Manchester City’s flourishing academy, according to Alan Nixon in the Sun on Sunday.
16-year-old attacker Jadon Sancho is undoubtedly one of English football’s most exciting prospects in his age group and has been an instrumental part of City’s under-18s side rampaging to the U18 Premier League North title without a single defeat.
Signed from Watford in 2015 for £500,000, the skillful Sancho has shone for both City and England, and the Blues could face a challenge keeping hold of him. The Sun on Sunday claims that there is worry at the Etihad that Sancho, seen as a potential first-teamer, could be lured away to the capital.
Arsenal’s top scout Steve Rowley has been monitoring Sancho, who it is claimed could find it hard to resist a return to London.
But City will undoubtedly do everything they can to keep hold of Sancho, who is part of perhaps City’s most promising group of youngsters ever. Despite his tender age, Sancho has also made several appearances for City’s under-23 side, scoring 2 goals in 4 appearances, on top of 2 goals in 6 appearances in this season’s UEFA Youth League.
