Alexis Sanchez close to £50m move from Arsenal to Bayern Munich; City remain interested – report – City Watch

The agent of Manchester City target, Alexis Sanchez, has arrived in Bavaria for talks with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich over a £50 million switch from Arsenal, according to one of Chile’s biggest news outlets El Mercurio.

Fernando Felicevich, Alexis’ representative and also the agent of Bayern midfielder Arturo Vidal, is set to discuss details about the possible arrival of the 28-year-old from Arsenal, with the German giants offering a huge annual salary of £11.2 million – around £215,000-a-week.

Bayern are prepared to invest in the region of £100 million in their first-team squad this summer, to bring them closer to the Champions League trophy again after they were knocked out at the quarter-final stage this season, and Sanchez would be their marquee signing of the summer.

Sanchez’s other option is Manchester City, who Chilean journalist Maks Cárdenas claimed yesterday would be the player’s preferred choice, with his agent pushing him towards Bayern.

El Mercurio states that City could rival the salary on offer from Bayern Munich, but a move to Arsenal’s Premier League rivals is ‘more distant for the moment’, with Bayern more advanced in their attempts to sign the 29-goal superstar.
