Alan Nixon: Riyad Mahrez makes personal plea with Leicester owners, compromise likely on City move – City Watch

City Watch

Manchester City still have a chance of signing Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez before the transfer window shuts, Alan Nixon of The Sun reports.

Nixon, who was the first to break the story yesterday, says the 26-year-old has made a ‘personal plea’ to Leicester’s owners to grant him the big move he has been seeking for a while now.

Encouragingly, he adds that there is likely to be a compromise with City handing over a ‘huge fee’.

The clock is ticking, but this one could still have legs.

Meanwhile, Mahrez may have burnt some bridges at Leicester by trying to force through this move, with a number of players said to be upset by his actions.

Understand a number of #lcfc players feel angry and let down by Riyad Mahrez as he tries to force through a move to #mcfc. Mahrez failed to turn up for training yesterday and hasn’t travelled with the squad to face #efc
