Sevilla offer Manchester City winger Jesus Navas a three-year contract with the option of a fourth – City Watch

City Watch

Manchester City looked poised to lose Jesus Navas, the only out-of-contract senior player known to have been offered a new deal out of the six coming to the end of their deals (Yaya Touré’s agent has denied any new contract offer to the Ivorian).

Earlier today, we reported details of a meeting between Sevilla sporting director Óscar Arias and Margarita Garay, the general director of Bahía Internacional, who represent Navas.

Talks went well and now the very reliable José Manuel Oliva of Cadena COPE is reporting that the Andalusian club have offered 31-year-old Navas a three-year contract with the option of a fourth year. Compared to the one-year deal on the table from Manchester City, this sounds like an enticing offer for the World Cup winner to return home.

Indications are that Navas will snub City’s contract offer and accept Sevilla’s, and he could become their first big signing of the summer. If this is the case, it will leave Pep Guardiola needing to buy two new right-backs unless he promotes young Pablo Maffeo or converts a player already in his squad, such as Fernandinho.
