Manchester City ready to offload flop Claudio Bravo to Ligue 1 side – report – City Watch

City Watch

Manchester City could soon be without all three first-team goalkeepers from last season, with reports from Chile suggesting that Claudio Bravo could follow Willy Caballero and Angus Gunn out of the Etihad.

El Mercurio is reporting that Chile captain Bravo is subject to strong interest from Marcelo Bielsa’s Lille, who are keen to take him on loan to France.

Bielsa and Bravo have worked together before when El Loco was in charge of the Chilean national team from 2007 to 2011, and the new Lille boss is looking to make changes to his squad after taking over the Ligue 1 outfit this summer.

And it is reported that Man City are quite open to letting Bravo join Les Dogues on loan for the 2017-18 season, so open in fact that they would be willing to pay a considerable percentage of Bravo’s £90,000-a-week wages.

This would leave City with only just one goalkeeper on the books – Ederson, the new arrival from Benfica who will be announced imminently.

Willy Caballero has left the club with his contract expiring and could be off to Chelsea, while highly-rated England under-21 goalkeeper Angus Gunn has returned to former club Norwich City on loan.

If Bravo does depart this summer, it would mean City are in the market for a second shot-stopper, with free agent Victor Valdes one potential option having worked with Pep Guardiola during Barcelona’s golden age.
