Manchester City midfield whiz-kid Manu García attracting interest across Europe – City Watch

City Watch

Spanish youngster Manu García will be a player in demand this summer if Manchester City decide to cash in on him, with clubs from at least four European leagues interested.

The 20-year-old has been a sensation in his two seasons on loan at NAC Breda, and City’s Dutch partner club would love him back, but with such interest from elsewhere, may find it difficult.

García is attracting interest from clubs in England, Spain, France and the Netherlands, BN DeStem reports, with several of them already talking to City about potential deals.

From Spain, three prominent clubs have been reported to have eyes on García – Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal.

The midfielder is due to report back for pre-season training at City on July 9, but has yet to officially learn if the club plans to loan him out again, sell him, or even integrate him into the first-team fold.

Pep Guardiola is thought to be an admirer of Manu but with so much competition in midfield, he may find it difficult to break through into the City team.

City have already sold two of their better starlets over the age of 20 this summer, with another NAC Breda loanee Angeliño joining PSV Eindhoven for in excess of €5million, and Pablo Maffeo heading to VfB Stuttgart in Germany for a club-record fee of €10million.
