Manchester City will add another wonderkid to their academy in January after agreeing a deal to sign Irish goalkeeping sensation Gavin Bazunu from Shamrock Rovers for an initial €350,000 (£315,000).

According to the Irish Daily Star, City have struck a deal to sign the highly-rated teenage shot-stopper, who will sign a pre-contract before officially joining the Premier League champions in January.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Celtic have also shown interest in the prodigy, who is already a regular for Shamrock Rovers – and has appeared in the Europa League for them – despite not even leaving school yet, but his future appears to be at the City Football Academy.

City have a proud history of developing young goalkeepers, with the likes of Joe Hart, Kasper Schmeichel and Angus Gunn – who joined Southampton for an initial £10million this summer – some recent examples.
