Clichy has been linked with a host of clubs, including Turkish giants Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, both of whom he was reported to be close to joining at different times.
But unless of any late hitches, he will instead be reuniting with former teammate Emmanuel Adebayor at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium with last season’s Süper Lig runners-up.
NTV Spor reports that he has signed an agreement with Başakşehir and after a medical tomorrow in Istanbul, will travel to the club offices and sign the official contract. A signing ceremony will then be held at 2pm, with club president Göksel Gümüşdağ in attendance.
Clichy made 203 appearances during a six-year stay with Manchester City, winning the Premier League and League Cup twice, in addition to the Community Shield in 2012. He was one of five veterans to leave the club this summer when their contracts expired.
