La Masia wonderkid Eric García says farewell to Barcelona ahead of move to Manchester City – City Watch
Eric García is the latest La Masia wonderkid to abandon the famous institution, following Jordi Mboula’s switch to Monaco recently that has caused outrage amongst Culés.
16-year-old García, a centre-back, is rated as one of Barça’s greatest defensive prospects in years, but has decided to quit the club in favour of a move to Manchester City.
While neither club has announced the transfer yet, Pep Guardiola himself confirmed it and the youngster is heading to the Etihad in a €2million deal.
García has taken to Instagram today to post an emotional farewell message, in which he thanks the club, its staff, his teammates and, of course, the Barcelona fans for their support over the years.
