Huddersfield Town prepare £8m bid for Manchester City midfielder after promotion – City Watch
Huddersfield Town achieved a valuable promotion to the Premier League on Monday and preparations for the new season must start now if they are to remain in the top flight of English football.
One negotiation that will need to take place is keeping Aaron Mooy at the club – it is reported by the The Times that Huddersfield are planning to launch an £8 million offer to Manchester City midfielder Mooy, you has spent the season out on loan at the Terriers.
Wagner is expected to discuss his transfer budget with the chairman today and retention of players currently on loan is at the top of his wishlist, although he will face competition for Mooy.
Newcastle United, Brighton Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Middlesbrough are just some of the clubs linked with Mooy, however the latter two will be at the back of the queue, as it is likely Mooy would prefer to play in the Premier League.
Of course, it is also possible that Pep Guardiola keeps Aaron Mooy among his ranks, who was voted in the EFL team of the year, as a ball-playing midfielder – although a move away from the club, and probably to Huddersfield looks more likely.
