English, Spanish & Turkish clubs eye Manchester City defender as agent rules out Holland return – City Watch
Spanish centre-back Pablo Marí is unlikely to return to NAC Breda from Manchester City next season, his agent has told BN DeStem.
Marí, 24, enjoyed an impressive season in Breda as the senior member of the City loan crew sent over last year. The former Gimnàstic and Mallorca player was handed the captain’s armband early in his stay and his ability and leadership skills led to some Premier League clubs taking an interest in him.
“NAC is not impossible, but is currently not on the list of options,” Marí’s agent said to BN DeStem.
It appears the Spaniard has more enticing options on the table, with interest for his services arriving from England, Spain and Turkey.
Fenerbahce are reportedly considering Marí in the event that they fail to sign Mattia Caldara from Juventus.
Marí is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until next June, meaning City either have to sell him now or renew his contract and send him back on loan to avoid losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
