The future of Yaya Touré remains uncertain despite the Ivorian’s outstanding form for Manchester City since returning from his exile.
Yaya’s return has also meant fewer words from his controversial agent, Dimitri Seluk, but the 33-year-old’s Ukrainian representative has been speaking to the microphones of Italian site TMW, a source renowned for its links to agents.
Seluk told TMW that Touré is in good physical condition with no problems, and is also pleased after Pep Guardiola named him in City’s revised Champions League squad for the knockout stage.
The big reveal from Seluk came when asked if a new contract offer had arrived from City yet, to which he responded, “Not yet. I believe that within 30-40 days there will be some news and understanding about his future.”
With no knowledge yet on whether he’ll remain at the Etihad Stadium beyond this season, Seluk was quizzed about the possibility of Touré joining the many big names who have moved to China. His response was blunt: “China? No, I’m ruling that out. Yaya still has 3 or 4 years left at the highest level. He wants to play in a top European league.”
Seluk also said that there have been no fresh offers from Serie A after Inter unsuccessfully pursued the midfielder for two years while Roberto Mancini was in charge. Seluk didn’t rule out a move to Italy for his client, but reiterated that they’d know more in no less than a month and a half.
