Patrick Roberts has tonight arrived in Barcelona to finalise a season-long loan move from Manchester City to partner club Girona FC.
The 21-year-old was caught on camera at Barcelona Airport with two companions and will undergo a medical and complete the usual formalities before being announced as a Girona player.
It will be a new experience for Roberts, who has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons at Celtic, where he won seven trophies, including three league titles.
City’s next opponents, Huddersfield Town, considered a deadline day move for the winger, but no formal offer arrived for the ex-Fulham man, who will join City teammate Aleix Garcia at Girona this season.
