Despite reports from Spain that Pablo Zabaleta will be staying another year, the links to his mooted replacement, Bruno Peres, continue. Today’s edition of Tuttosport believes he is closer than ever to leaving Torino for Manchester City.

This is in contrast also to information from England, that City have ‘no interest’ in the 26-year-old, despite respected Torino news site Toro News repeatedly claiming to have information from Peres’ own entourage of negotiations for a deal. The more mainstream Italian sources also insist City are interested in the speedy right-back, a completely different story than what we’re hearing locally.

Peres has missed training for ‘personal reasons’ lately, and according to Tuttosport, many insiders are confident that he has asked for a transfer. Torino have already received around €10 million for centre-back Kamil Glik, who left for Monaco, and indications from Italy are that they are negotiating a €20 million deal for Peres to join Pep Guardiola’s revolution.

With almost every rumoured Manchester City transfer at present come very mixed reports. In this case, the Italian media believes Peres will replace Zabaleta, City have apparently claimed no interest, SPORT say Zabaleta will remain another year, and today’s Daily Mirror states that Zabaleta and Kolarov could leave – but not until replacements are found. One of which could be Bruno Peres. Or not. This transfer window currently presents more questions than answers.
