Manchester City now just 1/4 to sign Monaco star after bookies slash odds

Another unexpected movement in the betting market has City fans talking after Sky Bet slashed odds on Monaco playmaker Bernardo Silva to join Manchester City this summer.

As of 18:30 today, Silva’s odds of a move to the Etihad had shortened to 1/4 after gradually dropping throughout the day. Most rumours this week have associated him with a move to Manchester United, but they are currently priced at 12/1, raising the intriguing question of what has led to so much money being placed on Bernardo joining the blue half of Manchester.

The last media link to Silva came on Sunday when French television program Téléfoot claimed City and Real Madrid were the two clubs interested in Silva.

Canal Plus, considered a more reliable source than Téléfoot, claim that Silva is in ‘advanced contact’ with Manchester United over a move to Old Trafford.

With five players confirmed to be leaving the Etihad already this summer, it promises to be a busy and exciting transfer window, but who exactly the Blues plan to bring in is still unclear with so many new names being linked each week.
