Manchester City and Tottenham formally open talks about a deal for Kyle Walker

After weeks and weeks of speculation, Manchester City and Tottenham have formally opened talks to discuss a deal for England right-back Kyle Walker, the BBC reports.

Negotiations for the England international have only just started and no fee has been agreed yet, with Spurs valuing 27-year-old Walker at either £40million and £50million based on different reports in the media.

The Sheffield-born full-back has been identified as a priority signing by Pep Guardiola after both senior right-backs, Pablo Zabalelta and Bacary Sagna, were released with their contracts expiring this summer.

Should City and Spurs agree a fee, the Blues’ right side will see a huge upgrade with Kyle Walker and the incoming Dani Alves rotating in that area. Alves could be confirmed as soon as today with Juventus last night announcing that his contract has been rescinded.
