Gabriel Jesus does NOT need surgery and reveals when he will be back on the pitch

Gabriel Jesus will NOT need to go under the knife as recently reported, after suffering a fractured left orbit (eye bone) courtesy of an elbow by Manchester City teammate Nicolas Otamendi.

The 20-year-old sustained the injury in stoppage time of Brazil’s 1-0 defeat to Argentina and was stretchered off. The initial report from Edu Gaspar, Brazil’s team coordinator, was that there was nothing wrong with Gabriel Jesus and he would be fine. This information was relayed to chiefs at Manchester City.

Then came an update of a fracture to his left orbit, raising fears that Gabriel Jesus could miss part of City’s preseason schedule.

However, the Samba sensation has revealed on his social media channels that he will not require surgery now and although he will be reevaluated in 15 days, could be back on the pitch in just three weeks.

The City forward thanked doctors Jorge Pagura, Claudio Lotemberg and Sergio Miranda for their treatment of his injury.
