Brazil coach Tite explains how Man City training moves are influencing Brazil national team

Pep Guardiola’s training methods are also having an impact on Brazil’s national team, with Seleção coach Tite explaining how a combination from Manchester City made its way to South America yesterday.

City had four players in the Brazil matchday squad, with two of them, Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, starting and using a practiced play that saw the goalkeeper throw the ball to Gabriel Jesus and create an opportunity from that.

“Ederson has a throw that needs to be studied,” Tite told reporters. “In a rehearsed move from City, he left Gabriel Jesus in front of Chile’s goal.”

The 24-year-old, who completed something of a rags to riches story by winning his first Brazil cap, impressed for his country, just as he has been doing for his club, and Tite noted that.

“This position is not closed either,” Tite said, referring to the goalkeeping position. “We have several high-level players in that position.”

Ederson is now Brazil’s second-choice goalkeeper behind another talented young shot-stopper, 25-year-old Alisson of Roma, but if he continues his excellent form, he may well find himself between the posts when Brazil kick off their World Cup campaign at Russia 2018.
